The NSW UNAA Young Professionals are all about events. In fact, we’re renowned for creating unique evenings where our members can network and collaborate, inspired by thought-provoking topics, high-calibre guest speakers and a diverse audience.
Our events mark various United Nations Day of Observance and range from panel discussions, to film screenings, lively debates, and dinner parties. Over the years our events have celebrated:
- International Women’s Day in 2013
- World Refugee Day in 2013
- World Food Day in 2014
- World Press Freedom Day 2015
- United Nations Day 2015
In addition, we’ve held panel discussions on: ‘Freedom of the Internet’ as a 21st century human right (2014); Australia’s bid for a seat on the UN Human Rights Council (2014); and The future of international development (2013); as well as a two-day conference (2012); and two highly entertaining trivia nights.
Our events attract a strong turn out of dynamic and influential young professionals from backgrounds such as law, social sciences, humanitarian work, financial services, engineering and the creative arts. We’re united by our interest in current topical international issues and in broadening our professional networks.
Stay tuned to hear more about our Monthly Meetup, where members can mingle informally in a small bar in Sydney, while inspired by a guest speaker whose work aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
