What UNAA has to offer

UNAA offers you the opportunity to be involved in the wide range of issues that confront the United Nations and Australia: from human rights to peacekeeping, from greenhouse gases to clean water. Not only is Australia an active member of the United Nations, but this country's Federal, State and Territory laws are, in many cases, part of Australia's international obligations. UNAA gives you a chance to be heard.

Membership

If you want to have an influence on Australia's foreign policy through direct lobbying and informed meetings, join UNAA in your State or Territory

The United Nations Association of Australia is in the information business. To keep abreast of Australia's obligations and responsibilities to the United Nations make use of UNAA's national weekly news summary, UNity.

UN jobs advice

The United Nations Association of Australia cannot get you a job with the UN or its agencies. Remember, the UN employs fewer people than in some departments of the the Australian public service. That said, the UN and its agencies are always on the look out for the best people - and you might just be the best person. You can find any advertised UN job on the internet at: www.un.org

UN procurement

The United Nations buys everything it uses: from paper clips to dams; from emergency food to clean water. It buys training services and uses consultants involved in every facet of sustainable development. The UN and its agencies spend $US30 billion a year on helping the world to help itself. The United Nations Association of Australia offers Australian companies advice and information in tapping into this market. This services is available from the Victorian Division of UNAA.
