United Nations Day – UNAA NSW School Program

Join UNAA (NSW) in inspiring young people to be kind, perseverant, and motivated global citizens.

This year, UNAA (NSW) is building on its annual ‘United Nations Day ~ Peace People Planet’ initiative by calling upon schools in NSW to observe the day on Friday, 22 October (as 24 October is a Sunday) by wearing ‘Blue’ among other activities to highlight the work of the United Nations (UN) and achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development GoalsThis is your day, so you are welcome to make it your own and integrate elements that align with your goals.

Our UNAA NSW School Program will:

  • Inform students on the critical work of the United Nations and the Global Goals
  • Engage students through activities which encourage them to take action
  • Strengthen your school’s commitment to nurturing global citizens and leaders of tomorrow

 

Multiple ways to get involved:

  • Mufti Day: Wearing blue to raise awareness and fundraise
  • Run a ‘Creativity for the Sustainable Development Goals’ art competition
  • Hold a United Nations Day section in an assembly
  • Integrate some of our UN resources into the classroom
  • And much more…

How to get involved in the UNAA NSW School Program:

  • Step 1: Complete the United Nations Day Registration Form
  • Step 2: Once registered, UNAA (NSW) will send you a complimentary United Nations Day Resource Pack for key information and ideas
  • Step 3: Look for partner schools within your network to work on collaborative projects (optional)
  • Step 4: Engage with UNAA (NSW) and send updates via email
