UNAA (NSW) Members and Volunteers Meetup

Due to coronavirus stay-at-home rules, we are now conducting this face-to-face program in a virtual environment, but with the same opportunity to learn, share, and connect with learn-minded individuals. Last month, we gathered online to learn about SDG 13 – Climate Action, SDG 14 – Life Below Water and the importance of government policies and our own actions to help achieve the #GlobalGoals.

23 April Meetup Theme: United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

Agenda:

• Event Introduction and update on the UN response to the current pandemic (Kevin Spence, Director of Memberships).
• UN SDGs overview and how Australia is measured against these goals/targets (Andrea Spencer-Cooke, VP Programs).
• UN & SDGs Quiz: Learn and have fun
• Passion Pitch: Two 5-minute pitches from members or volunteers running/involved an initiative in Australia which aligns with the UN & SDGs (we are currently requesting interest from anyone who would like to pitch).
• Volunteer update and discussion on available initiatives for volunteers in NSW which are mapped to the UN SDGs (Brett Martin, Director of Volunteering).
