International Day of Peace: Sophie McNeill Lecture

You are invited to celebrate the United Nations International Day of Peace with us at St John’s Cathedral, Brisbane.
The International Day of Peace (IDP) was originally a time to pause conflict in a war zone. But we now also take time to reflect on what mindsets and actions we can take to make peace in our everyday life.
This year, the IDP – which is in its 8th year, is celebrating with a special annual lecture by esteemed peace ambassador, Sophie McNeill. Along with recognition of Rotary peace fellows, music by children and local artists, an art exhibition, and introduction to our teams new United Nations Association of Australia (UNAA) Peace and Security Program team.

This is a free public event supported by UNAA Queensland, St John’s Cathedral, Just Peace, Rotary, Griffith Uni, UQ, WILPF, and Quakers.
Supper will be kindly prepared by Soroptimist International. Everyone is welcome.
This is a free event and donations will be accepted at the Cathedral door.
